BLURB:

 Family is where life begins.And what better time to spend with your family than Christmas week?

Ashley and Giacomo go to Upper Swainswick, a postcard village ten minutes’ drive from Bath, to stay with Ashley’s mum and stepdad. It’s their last visit before the arrival of their first child.

But babies have a habit of being unpredictable.

So when Ashley goes into labour on Christmas Eve, three weeks ahead of schedule, it takes everyone by surprise.

She’s not ready! Her perfect Birth Plan is packed away in her hospital bag two hundred miles away, she has no going home outfit, and she has a live event planned for New Year’s Eve for her YouTube channel, The Sinking Chef. People have been signing up for it for weeks. She can’t possibly disappoint them on the last day of the year. What is she to do?

The tinsel gets even more tangled when Giacomo’s parents decide to fly from Italy to meet their first grandchild. Hotels are fully booked, so everyone has to stay under the same roof.

Would eleven people in the house, not counting the baby, turn out to be simply too much for Ashley?

Excerpt:

 It’s dark outside but I’m awake.

It’s normal. Nothing to worry about. Everyone has little things that keep them awake at night with their stomachs knotted, right? I’m no different to anybody else.

For me those things are Eatwell and bad curry.

And the curry last night must’ve been really bad because it’s giving me awful cramps.

At dawn I tiptoe to Mum’s kitchen to make myself a cup of hot chocolate. I drop a few giant marshmallows on top and watch them melt into the dark liquid. It reminds me of snow softening into the ground. I love snow. It’s a pity we hardly ever get it in England.

There’s only frost outside now as far as I can see.

In the fluffy dawn light, Mum’s garden looks stunning in a quaint, English-village sort of way. With it’s perfectly trimmed hedges that are currently covered in curtain light strings and Christmas icicle lights.

Mum’s even bought a mummy and baby penguin for the patio. The baby is looking up and the mummy is doting down on it. They are made out of metal framing and glittery strands and illuminate the darkness around them with cool spark.

I glide a hand over my stomach in which my own baby is growing.

‘A few more weeks to go, little one.’ I whisper in the dark. ‘I can’t wait to meet you!’

My tummy tightens and I feel the baby turn. It’s too big to move now, I’m in my thirty-seventh week, but it manages to roll a bit and slam into my bladder.

I totter towards the toilet. That’s another thing I can’t wait for – to regain control over my own bladder. This baby has been keeping me as fidgety as a popcorn in a frying pan.

Another cramp grips me as I’m washing my hands.

‘Aw, aw, aw, aw!’ I double over the sink. ‘Bloody curry.’

I’m surprised everyone else isn’t up and queuing for the loos, considering we all ate—’

And that’s when it hits me – it’s not the curry.

I’m in labour!

BLURB:

Izzie Greene never wanted the limelight. As a caterer for Poe, the top-rated U.S. TV show, she had background player down pat. Her main focus was to spoil the cast and crew and fantasize about her celebrity crush, Scotsman Cardwell Bennett, while navigating the daily chaos.

Izzie’s professional life takes a sharp left turn when her ex-boyfriend unexpectedly arrives on set. Her personal life spirals into Hell when she runs afoul of an unethical paparazzo. Thrust into the public eye, her notoriety is fueled by equal measures of constant scrutiny, speculation, and half-truths. Her rumored romance with Cardwell further stokes the flames.

Held captive by the media, accident-prone Izzie struggles to keep her privacy, secrets, and sanity intact—not to mention her sense of humor. With help from her best friend Delly, her temperamental cat Edgar, and unexpected backup, Izzie might withstand the onslaught. And survive the season.

Excerpt:

“You’re my best friend. You’re supposed to love me.” My bottom lip jutted out, quivering.

“And you’re an incredible baker.” Her voice rose smugly over my protestations. “Cardwell B. loves your chocolate and cranberry scones.”

“That’s rich.” I snorted my disbelief. “If Ritchie doesn’t think I’m good enough, then Cardwell’s sure not going to.”

“Don’t be stupid. Cardwell is nothing like Ritchie. He’s a nice guy.”

“Riiiiiight.” Nice guy didn’t translate to much in my dictionary. Ritchie had been nice, too…once upon a time.

Delly ignored my sarcasm. “No joke, Izz. He cornered me yesterday while everyone scrambled for that stupid bird, raving about those damn scones.” She shoved a fistful of tissues into my hands. “I know you’re upset, but get your shit together.”

I teared up again and motioned to the clothes- covered futon. “I was trying.”

“Feeling sorry for yourself isn’t trying.” Delly sat next to me and threw her arm around my shoulder. “Let’s finish packing. Then we’ll have girls’ night. Tomorrow morning, we’ll work the gig then head to the shop, and you’re prepping scones to bake first thing on Monday morning. They’ll be freshly made. Hot and steamy. Butter will drip off those scones.”

“Only you could make food sound like porn.” I sniffled and wiped my nose.

“Would porn with Cardwell really be bad?” She jabbed at my bare feet with the toe of her boot, forcing me to tuck them out of harm’s way.

I shot her a death glare.

“What?” Delly pulled her innocent face. “At least he can act.”

single-chicas-front-cover

Women’s Fiction / Humor
Date Published:8/19/16

Perfection is a Barbie doll, and, unless you’re looking for a guy with a fake smile, a hard head, and no genitalia, then you’re better off NOT being perfect―Single Chicas
Single Chicas is a collection of stories about modern Latinas being in, out, and around the zany hurdles of relationships. One woman receives strange calls from a lonely soul, another seeks advice on how to love herself, and another wakes up in a parallel universe to a man she’s never met. These chicas will make painstaking effort to survive the complexities with humor and grace. Once again, López dazzles audiences with her brilliantly candid craft. Smart, witty, and funny, these stories will explore the true endurance of singlehood.

#1: My Brother’s Funeral

I’ll never forget the day my brother gave me a stroke. Of course, being that he was my little brother, a stroke should’ve been classified a recurring condition by then. Instead, the most he had ever given me was a chronic eye twitch, which, now that I think about it, may have been an indicator of an on-coming stroke. But, yes, it was definitely a stroke I had when Benito (I always called him Benny) came over that day to tell me he was getting married.

My brain blew a short and my whole body went numb. I think, at one point, the world before me was engulfed in a white flash, and then somehow I ended up on the floor. When I finally got the feeling back in my jaw, the only thing I could muster to say was: “Are you a moron?” The clear answer was “yes.” He was a moron. Getting married? Was he out of his freaking mind? Oh, hell yeah! Let’s put aside that he was only 19, not even old enough to drink, for god sakes; let’s put aside that he’d only known the girl for 6 months, at most; let’s even put aside how annoying the girl was and how I couldn’t stand her. Why in the hell would he want to hang himself like that? Had he forgotten that marriage is basically a prison? Had he not paid attention to all the disaster stories I’d told him? Broken marriages from all around the table, starting with our parents and going all the way to our grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, to damn near everyone else we knew. It all ended the same: divorce, the blissful release from a life sentence.

“Why, Benny, why?”

“Oh, Bea, don’t you even start,” he retorted with a dismissive wave of his hand. “I don’t want to hear your putdowns on marriage…again. I’ve heard them over and over and over.”

“Well, have you heard that marriages basically suck the big weenie?”

“I believe I did hear that from you, yes.”

“Well, then tell me why? Why the fuck would you do something like that!?” Oh, I could feel my poor blood pressure rising. Good grief, the boy was going to give me a heart attack. I tried taking in a few calming breaths, but the whole thing was basically useless. I was in total freak-out mode. “C’mon, Benny, tell me, please, because I’m not understanding here. What, did she pull that voodoo-hoodoo crap on you? Did you crack your head on something? Have you just completely lost your mind? C’mon, you gotta give me something here.”

With an easy shrug, he said, “Oh…you know.”

“No, I don’t know!” Okay…one, two, three…breathe. I shot him a stern glance and asked directly, “Did you knock her up?”

He looked at me accusingly, his dark eyes narrowing. “You would think that, wouldn’t you?”

“Well, I don’t know what else to think.”

Benny shook his head with a petulant eye roll. I know that eye roll. It’s the same one he pulls whenever someone tells him to pick up his socks or wash his hands. In a huff, he simply stated, “No. I didn’t knock her up.”

“Then why?”

“Because she’s just…”

“What? Say something.”

“You know…” At a loss for words, he paused then added, “she’s just so…you know…great.”

A literary master at work here. “Great? What’s so great about her?”

He shrugged his shoulders.

“That’s a good answer,” I inserted wryly.

“Well, I can’t think with all these questions,” he snapped.

“I’m sorry, do you need a minute? I mean, I know I’m throwing really hard questions at you. Worse than poking your nose or scratching your balls, evidently.”

“Why you gotta be like that, huh?”

“Hey, I’m not the one ruining my life here. I’m not the one going after those little titties.”

Pulling his “talk to the hand” gesture, Benny turned to walk away.

“Furthermore,” I continued, following on his ass, “she calls you forty times a day, she has you running to her every time she cries at all hours of the night, and she’s dragging you to all these girly places you wouldn’t be caught dead in, even if you were dead. Plus, she’s annoying, she’s rude, she’s just plain crazy. Face it, she’s nothing but a big, bi—”

“Okay, Bea, that’s enough!” he yelled, twisting around to face me. For a long time, he stood there staring down at me, his nostrils flaring, his jaw tightening. I could tell he was getting pissed. What guy wouldn’t? I was basically pointing out that his girl was wearing his huevos like a necklace.

“Look, bottom line: she treats you like a slave. She will ruin your life. She’s gonna suck you dry ’til there’s nothing left of the old Benny. Seriously, get out of this thing and go live your own life. C’mon, before it’s too late.”

He stood there in brooding silence for a moment, his gaze lingering on his sneakers. Then, looking back up at me in resignation, he said, “She really wants this.”

“What do you want?”

“I want to make her happy.”

“But what’s gonna make you happy?”

Biting his lower lip, my brother shifted awkwardly, his head hung low. He had no words.

“Benito!”

“She’s already started planning with her mom,” he shot out, tearing his eyes from the floor.

“Who cares!? Just don’t do it.”

“But I already told her I would.”

“Oh, god!” My frustration had mounted to unbelievable heights. Oy, there go those chest pains again. The boy was definitely killing me here. But what else could I do? I swear he was as loyal as a dumb dog, and he was bound and determined to live out his days with his tail between his legs. I knew then that he wouldn’t back out on her for any reason. Not even if she was kidnapped, I don’t think (although that was an idea that crossed my mind.)

I stood quiet for a moment, taking long calming breaths. Then I looked up at him, disappointment drawn on my face, and said, “You’re making a big mistake.”

That day I told my brother not to expect me at his funeral.

Screwing Around Excerpt:

James T. Wilcox, Cassie’s boss at TFP.mag, just roused her out of bed early in the afternoon to discuss his plans for her upcoming article. She’s busy making excuses.

***

“An appreciative, philandering movie star is hard to find?” “You should have gone after SEK like I suggested,” Wilcox said. “I love his characters way too much to ruin it with fangirl sex. Plus, he might have turned me down too.” “He would have taken the bait, guaranteed.” “Am I, personally, the bait? Or just my genitalia?” “Don’t read too much into fishing metaphors. It’s a ridiculous hobby to begin with.” “Wait, does he fish or something?” “Who?” “SEK.” “I don’t fucking know. Look,” he took a silver pen out of his pocket and uncapped it. His other hand slowly breached the distance between them and touched her shoulder. He slid his fingers down, lightly brushing the side of Cassie’s breast where it pressed against the inside of her arm. His caress continued down, and now she held her breath. He stopped at Cassie’s wrist, encircling it and drawing her hand up toward him over the counter. She thought he was about to kiss her palm. Instead, he started writing on it, “here’s his phone number. Call him and set up a date.” She let out my breath explosively and jerked her hand away so the last number, an 8, had a long trailer on top. “What the hell do you mean, a date?” “I know him, all right. He wants to meet you.” “Meet me? And go on a date? Let me guess, it was his suggestion that I write an article about him. Which means sex.” “If things go well.” “So now you’re pimping me out to your friends?” “Hardly.” He stood and gulped down the last of his coffee before starting around the island toward her. She backed away, terrified that his nearness would break some barrier she had created and she’d be powerless to resist his attentions. He stopped his advance and shook his head, giving her a knowing, disappointed look before starting for the door. “Fine. Look Sid, do you need a place to crash? You could always use the little townhouse downtown. You remember it right?” The little townhouse that they’d most recently copulated in. “Yes, I remember it.” He just watched her face for a few beats, licked his lower lip. “I’m hardly ever there and it mostly just stores all my stuff that doesn’t ‘go’ with the house. Which is all of my stuff.” “No, thanks. I’ve got it covered.” “I’ll text you the lock code just in case your plans fall through. It sits empty in between vicious bouts of legal separation. Someone should use it.” He stood near the door with his hands in his pockets. “And you should go after SEK. You deserve a nice night out for a change.”
“I don’t know. I really love his films.” “That’s why I’m positive he’ll be a better story than RG.” “Take it from a person who occasionally has feelings and emotions, I really like the RG story as is, despite the rejection. I think it’s my favorite so far.” “That two-bit hack was your favorite lay of this whole deal?” “Of course not, we didn’t even consummate, as you’ve so carefully pointed out over and over. He’s been my favorite article of the series and the most satisfactory individual case study on the subject matter at hand.” As they spoke, something invisible seemed to draw them closer and closer. “Which is what if not sex?” “Oh it’s sex, but not how you mean it.” “Fine. Redefine sex. Your satisfaction means the world to me.” He swung her door open and took a few steps away from her. He turned and stood in her doorway looking like a Wall Street Journal centerfold. It took every bit of self-control Cassie possessed not to pull him back in and peel him out of his suit. Instead, she gripped her robe even more forcefully closed and counted backwards in her head. She felt desperate to get the wolf out and the door safely re-locked. “I have a deal for you.” “Are we about to modify my contract, again?” “I’ll publish the RG piece as written, has been, prick, lead singer finale and all. If you’ll try SEK out. When I get your article on him, I’ll pay you out for both at once.” “Should I bother to counter offer?” “Not unless you’re going to invite me back inside.” “Fine. I’ll text him.” “Call him.” “Thanks. I forgot for a second that you’re both so old. I’ll call him.” “Thanks. And fix your hair.” Her hand shot up onto her hair knots while bolting the door, Wilcox safely on the other side, and she inwardly cursed herself for forgetting she still had them in. It was then she remembered she’d wanted to change the end of the article to better obscure the identity of a certain lead singer. Wilcox would demand even more concessions from her for the favor so she decided to forget it and let it lie. Cassie thought of all the strategies she’d cooked up to avoid screwing around with her boss and wondered again why she even bothered. His personality (imagine, waking someone up and then criticizing the state of their hair!) should have been more than enough. Needing another start to her day, Cassie turned on the coffee pot, covered her knots up with a pink shower cap and got into a steamy shower to shave. Remoisturized, she took out her hair and got her part in, leaving the rest loose and bouncy. She wrapped herself up in a seen-better-days beach towel and detoured into the kitchen for a mug to sip on while she got dressed. Cassie splashed in her cream and sipped it once before turning to head back to her bedroom. “Any left for me?”
She jumped and spilled some coffee on the hardwood but didn’t scream. She would know that voice anywhere. She spun to see MH sitting relaxed on her couch, all huge, golden and beautiful in jeans and a tee. He was in her apartment. Shit, Lenny’s apartment. She took a deep breath and got a hold of herself. “Of course.” She held onto her towel carefully while reaching up to the second shelf to get him the Darth Vader mug. “Cream?” “However you take it will be fine.” His voice was even, calm. He didn’t sound like a man guilty of breaking and entering. Maybe it was the Nordic accent he let slip into his words. He got up and stepped into the middle of the living room area. A bit closer to her. “I really like your place.” “Thanks. How’d you get in?” She gestured at him with the mug before setting it on the edge of the island. “I climbed up a few patios. Your window was unlocked.” He stood there in her living room, unmoving, but at her unflinching, waiting posture he hung his head. He snorted some air out and admitted, “I followed that ass clown here and waited for him to leave.” The window in question was fifty plus feet off the ground, and inaccessible without a fireman’s ladder as far as she had thought, but she decided not to push the point. “Why?” “Not sure I even know except I had to see you. See if you were really you, like the you I remembered.” MH squinted and screwed up his face, as if to see her better and she wondered if he was a little drunk. “I thought you never wanted to see me again.” “Never, ever. But I changed my mind. You changed my mind.” He walked forward finally to claim his coffee and she retreated a few more steps to give them both some space. “Don’t put this on me. How did you know Mr. Wilcox was coming here?” She absolutely could not wrap her head around the notion of him on a stakeout. “A little birdie told me. Don’t ask any more questions, does it matter?” “I guess not if you’re not going to tell me. How about you enjoy your warm beverage while I throw some clothes on. Then you can tell me what you want.” She turned away and took two steps toward the hall before his front crashed into her back and his ridiculously long arms wrapped her up from behind. “You know what I want as much as I do.” He said it like it hurt him and Cassie’s breath caught in her throat. “Sorry.” His arms loosened until he held her so lightly her towel unbound and began to slip. “Until I saw him leaving here, I just wanted to talk to you. Show you what you’ve done to me, tell you some of the consequences of what happened between us. Knowing he’d been up here with you, it drove me mad and that’s just stupid.” His arms let her go then but his body stayed pressed against her, and Cassie wasn’t sure what to make of his declarations. MH seemed a bit unhinged, and though she didn’t feel the slightest bit afraid she did wonder if she wasn’t erring on the side of lust here. She would have gladly murdered someone to be this close to him again and she found that no matter what the risk, she just didn’t want to fight her physical response to the man. She slowly turned to face him, their bodies millimeters apart. He continued, “Now I feel foolish for hating you and I don’t give one shit about consequences. Are you sleeping with that odious man?” “He’s my boss. I wouldn’t sleep with my boss.” This came out as a breathy whisper.
“But you have slept with him in the past?” “And you. But if it made a crucial difference I doubt you would have climbed up my neighbors’ patios and climbed through my window to surprise me fresh out of the shower.” His faced changed while she spoke and when she finished MH’s hand inched forward and grabbed the edge of her towel. She relaxed her grip and let him pull it off of her. His eyelids sank fractionally and his nose flared at her exposed flesh. Cassie leaned away slightly, pushing her shoulders back for her best breast display and she watched as his will to resist her snapped. His hands came around the back of her neck to pull their faces together and his lips sank into hers with a tender warmth she hadn’t expected. He kissed her slowly and deeply like a man without cares or reservations.

book blurb

Violence corroded her…

Obedience defiled her…

Fear kept her chained…

Freedom is hard to embrace when she’s never learned to trust. Yet in the span of a second, she grabs a single opportunity and runs toward it. Straight into the sanctuary of a pub at the end of a wharf.

She doesn’t understand the concept of friendship. She’s never felt the connection of a relationship. She’s as innocent as the driven snow and yet tainted with corruption. Still, she finds herself surrounded by people who accept her, without even knowing the first thing about her.
But one of them is determined to dig deeper.

He treasures his friends, yet he’s steered clear of committed relationships. He likes his life comfortably predictable and entirely controlled. Until it isn’t. For months he’s avoided interacting with The Skipper’s newest addition. Perhaps realizing that once he looked deeply into those liquid brown eyes, he wouldn’t be able to turn away.

When his present and her past puts them both on the brink of change, they are forged through fire as one.

excerpt

Listen to Freya read an excerpt from Through Fire

“Can I see?” His voice is right behind me now and I can almost feel the heat coming off his body.

Still without turning, I drop the peeler and hold my arm out to the side, slowly pulling up the sleeve of my sweater. He steps into my field of vision and wraps one of his large hands around my wrist, pulling my arm out further so he can see. It’s nothing. At least nothing compared to some marks I’ve carried. Still, the hiss of his breath over the raised blister on my forearm seems to burn itself into my skin, and I lightly tug at my arm. He releases it instantly.

“Did you put something on it?”

He settles his back against the counter, his arms crossed over his chest and it would be rude not to look at him. Although his voice sounds gruff, almost curt, his blue eyes only convey concern.

“I did,” I confirm. “It doesn’t hurt. Much,” I add, not quite sure why I felt the need to.

“Have you taken anything for the pain?”

I shake my head forcefully. “No.” No way in hell will I take any drugs. Not even if my arm was on fire.

I can feel him examine me closely and I keep my eyes focused on what my hands are doing. “Make sure to keep it clean. When those blisters open, it can easily get infected,” he finally says.

This time I simply nod. He seems satisfied with that and takes a look at the recipe while I pick up the peeler again.

For the next half hour we work in relative silence as we finish cutting the ingredients and toss them in the large pan, which is now ready to go in the oven. Tim’s easily taken charge and it’s obvious he is no slouch in the kitchen. I have to admit I feel more relaxed today than I did yesterday. Or even this morning when I should’ve been excited about meeting Viv at her apartment—my apartment now—but was worrying about the day ahead instead.

“I can teach you.” Tim’s statement, out of the blue, startles me. “Cooking, I mean. I’m no chef, but I can handle the basics.”

I’m not able to mask the flash of excitement at the prospect. Pam had tried but, with the constant interruptions at the shelter, I’d had a hard time staying on task. I quickly straightened my face, though, the moment I started thinking about the logistics. It would mean being alone with this large man for stretches of time. And where? At the apartment? Here at The Skipper? No. I can’t. I know enough to know that if a man offers you favors, it’s for good reason. Usually favors in return. Otherwise what would he get out of it?

“Why?”

He seems a little taken aback by my question. “Because you want to learn. You said so. Never too late to start. And if I’ve learned anything in my years it’s that regret is the one true failure. Besides,” he says with a shrug of his massive shoulders, “I like cooking. I don’t do it often enough.”

“Okay.” I slap my hand over my mouth but it’s too late to hold back the inadvertent response.

His eyes twinkle with amusement. “Good.” He nods with a smile, before turning back to the stove.

What have I gotten myself into? Idiota.

GENRE: Contemporary Romance, Chick Lit

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Atlanta-based photographer Kate Miller doesn’t believe in fairytale romance or relationships of the forever kind. She’s determined to build her own happiness through hard work and professional success. So, when the opportunity arises to join an exclusive fashion photo shoot in Rome, she jumps on the chance to gain international recognition. But she’s not counting on an instant attraction to the charismatic, sexy, and irritatingly arrogant director of the shoot.
World famous, Domenic Varezzi is used to calling the shots. His clients trust his instincts and they’re willing to pay for the best. But while his career is thriving, his personal life has been lackluster at best. Hoping Kate could be the answer he’s been looking for, he’s determined to win her over. Every challenge she sends his way drives him to break through her tough-as-nails exterior to reach the vulnerable heart that matches his own.
Surrounded by the beauty and magic of Italy’s “Eternal City,” a foundation begins to form that could lead to a lifetime partnership, both in business and in love. Until Domenic’s past comes back to haunt the present and threatens to destroy everything.
Excerpt:
I accept the handshake. But a split second into it, as our gazes lock, his grip softens around mine. A slow warmth seeps down my arm and melts into my chest. My lungs seize, and Domenic’s throat works briefly as if he can’t quite swallow.
This is not what I signed on for.
Panic sets in. I slide my hand from his and cup it around the bowl of my glass. The wine burns a little as I take too big a gulp, but I manage not to cough. Domenic, too, has retreated into his glass, but whatever just passed in that handshake hangs over us.
“So,” I say in a voice too close to a whisper, sending a sidelong glance his way, “do you always wander around hotels at night with two glasses and a bottle of wine?”
“Only when there’s a chance I might run into a pretty girl.”
I snort into my glass, relieved that the spell seems to be broken.
Domenic’s grin returns. “Why is that funny?”
“The last person to call me a pretty girl was my great-uncle, and I think I was ten years old at the time.”
He chuckles. “Beautiful woman, then.”
The unexpected compliment sets off a flurry of butterflies deep in my stomach. Suddenly breathless, I drain my glass and set it down, then reach for my laptop and close the screen. “Now you’re just making fun of me.”
“I didn’t mean to.”
Chair legs scrape as we both push away from the table, me ready to bolt, him rising to placate me before I can. We stand facing each other, nearly as close as we were in the studio this afternoon. Taking a deep breath, I stare at his chest for a minute. Once my wild heartbeat and those damn butterflies settle, I tip my head back to meet his gaze.
“What are you doing on Sunday?” he asks before I can speak.
I stutter for a minute, unable to look away from his eyes. “Sightseeing, probably. We have the whole day off.”
“Maybe I’ll join you.”
My throat feels tight again. Nodding, I skirt around him, choking out something that sounds like, “Good night.”
His fingers touch my arm as I pass. “Good night, Kate.”
Head spinning, I clutch my laptop against my chest and rush to the terrace doors. I look back when I reach the doorway, only to find him watching me, his thumbs hooked in his pockets and a half-smirk on his face.
A face I find too handsome for my own good.
Still, I wave at him, wiggling my fingers like a silly teenager who sees her crush across the cafeteria. My face burns as I whirl, practically sprinting across the dark breakfast room to the hallway and stairwell.
Pursuing Carrie (Pretending #3) By Jenn Hype (With Review)
Book: Pursuing Carrie (Pretending #3)
By Jenn Hype
Genre: Contemporary Romance
**Can be read as a standalone, but backstory and character development from the first two books of the series may make this read more enjoyable.
Synopsis
Carrie is plain, quiet and doesn’t really give a shit what people think. Her priorities in life have absolutely nothing to do with dating or relationships. Quite the opposite, in fact, seeing as how a relationship is the absolute last thing she wants. Ever.
Joe is charming and charismatic, but the only thing he’s ever worked hard at in his adult life is his job. Outside of being a cop, he’s only interested in things that come easily, and that includes women. He gives the women he sleeps with respect, affection, and mind blowing orgasms – but that’s all he gives.
After being brought together by a mutual friend, Stacy, Joe and Carrie don’t exactly hit it off. They are the exact opposite of what the other looks for in a lover, yet they can’t fight the growing attraction that blossoms between them.
Under the pretense of wanting to be friends for the sake of Stacy, Joe sets out to win Carrie over, but his normal charms don’t work on her. And the more he tries to win her friendship, the more he realizes that friendship is not at all what he really wants.
Carrie’s willpower is strong, but it’s no match for Joe’s persistence, and despite her reluctance, Carrie finds herself falling for Joe in a way that she’s sure will cause irreparable damage in the end. Because nothing good ever comes out of hooking up with someone you care about, and why should this time be the exception?
Tainted pasts, crazy ex-lovers and flying dildos notwithstanding, Carrie and Joe find themselves venturing into unknown territory. It’s not easy, but it’s hot as hell, and luckily they are both too stubborn to give up easily on something that feels a lot more real than a short fling.
**Can be read as a standalone, but backstory and character development from the first two books of the series may make this read more enjoyable.
REVIEW
Carrie in the quiet reserved one of the group, she has secrets in her closet literally though!
I loved it.  And the ways these friends Adalyn, Carrie and Stacy talk to each is classic “Beeitch! but they always have each other’s back!  Great sexy read with great friendships.
Determined not to let Ian get under her skin, Adalyn fights hard to appear unaffected by Ian’s charm and devastating good looks. book blurb
Get three PI Assistant Extraordinaire Mysteries in a bundle.
More than 100,000 words, humorous mystery books.
Welcome to the glamorous universe of Kelly Kinki—yes, really! Working as a personal assistant of Michael Archangel—the hottest and the wackiest detective in D.C.—her day never ends without dead bodies…
Ghostly Murder
A murder in a locked room…The faceless ghost… Throw in a cross-dressing detective plus his assistant extraordinaire in this new mystery series!
For Kelly Kinki, working as Archangel’s personal assistant was always an adventure, one that keeps her on her toes. As the resident consulting detective for the busy Washington D.C. Police Department and the FBI, Archangel took the confusing or unsolvable situations and spun a Sherlock hue over them, finding answers amongst the clues and closing cases even the most skilled law enforcement agents found confounding. Working as both his assistant and sounding board, Kelly has an intimate knowledge of the inner workings of Archangel’s deduction, and of his fabulous closet. Not only is he a detective savant, he is also a towering specimen of a man with an appetite for women’s high fashion that could put a runway model to shame – a fact that leaves his less-fashionable assistant flummoxed, and slightly jealous.
It’s a classic ‘who-done-it’ with a not so classic answer.
Immortal Eyes
Serial murder with a sick ritual… The Dragon Lady…and the mismatched duo’s race against time…
Previously a socialite and a ‘real’ housewife, Kelly Kinki is now stuck with a dead-end job as a personal assistant to a private investigator. To Kelly, this translates as playing second fiddle to a guy who gets more cat-calls than she does.
Michael Archangel is his name, catching killers is what he does, and he does it in…well, a short skirt and high heels. As a former FBI Special Agent turned P.I., Archangel knows his way around a crime scene as well as he does the local Agent Provocateur. His game de jour is toying with Kelly, his assistant—just like cat and mouse. However, they’re a team, whether fending off rude paparazzi or manhandling the politicians, freaks, and other lowlifes roaming the streets of the nation’s capital, the two are hell-bent on finding a serial killer who is holding the city hostage.
Join Archangel, Kelly, and a host of oddball characters as they wind their way through a madcap crime thriller, with more twists and turns than a mind-bender roller coaster. Kelly’s story is filled with raucous humor and irreverent satire, so buckle up. Who’ll solve the crime, and who will take the credit? Perhaps all the investigators will get for their trouble is a full color splash on the cover of the Washington Post, “Latest Victims Discovered in Matching Frocks – One Male, One Female”.
Deadly Vision
A murder of a sweetie pie… A newbie, pathetic agent…and the reluctant mentor…
Voted #7 of DC’s Most Eligible Bachelors, now Michael Archangel—her boss—is officially the hottest PI in the neighborhood, and one of the most talented. Sought by clients and police alike for his wit and brain power, this is an American Sherlock with style – and a unique past.
The college girl was last seen at Tricky Sundae, a local ice cream shop, and then she turns up dead. This time, the case seems so normal, at first. The victim, a universally-loved college student, has been strangled. Well, maybe not so “universally” loved, since she’s dead—and that’s the weird part. Not a single person has anything bad to say about her.
excerpt
Excerpt from ‘Immortal Eyes—Book 2 of PI Assistant Extraordinaire Mystery’
When I walked to the poolside, he was in the lap pool, swimming in freestyle. He noticed me and came out of the water, and I had a seriously hard time ripping my eyes off him.
I’d never regarded Michael Archangel to be an eligible male, but believe me, with broad shoulders, Herculean chest, six-pack abs, and full of toned muscles, his body was purrrrfect. I needed a helluva lot of restraint to keep myself from drooling. In front of me stood Michael Archangel, wearing nothing other than black swim trunks. Mom was right. My employer was an alpha male, at least in the physical features department. Except I had no idea as to how she had figured out the presence of his … equipment. And frankly, I didn’t want to know.
“Hey,” he said.
For a couple of heartbeats—maybe several of them—my mind wandered off, thinking: Gosh, I want to jump his bone right now and Get a grip, Kelly. Having a crush on your employer is so awkward! It was like the moment of having an angel and a demon sitting on each of your shoulders spatting at each other. Words failed to come out of me. I was standing there like a total moron.
“Earth to Kelly.” Archangel stared down at me with a look that implied he knew what I was thinking. “Don’t tell me you’re hallucinating.” Droplets of water trickled from the knotted bun of his long hair, down to his shoulders and further to the south.
“Hallucinating? Oh no, it’s just…well, you know…looks like I zoned out a little. Maybe it’s just jetlag. Yes, it’s only jetlag. How strange! I used to fly all over the world, never having difficulties adjusting to local time, and now I’m having it for the first time. I mean, a jetlag. It’s been years since I’d last flown over the pond.” Thank God I was wearing a padded bra that worked perfectly to conceal my fully erected nipples.
A slight smile surfaced on his lips. “So what’s going on?”
REVIEW:
This book is full of sweet romantic stories containing pets.  I especially love the Her Perfect Catch with Mel, Jet and the typing dog Mack.  Mack and his typing skills caused a lot of havoc for Melanie and Jet (the football player).  The author did a great job with the two guys outs for Mel’s affections.  We watch Mel discover love is closer to home than she thinks. All the stories were wonderful, Valentine’s Day And Pets, what a combination thrown in with sweet kisses!
Valentine Hound Dog  – Rachelle Ayala
Fashion icon Jenna Hart, along with her basset hound puppy, tries to convince a burned former fireman that beauty is never skin deep and love’s arrow strikes not only the beautiful, but the bold.
The Crazy Girl’s Handbook – DelSheree Gladden
Spending the weekend babysitting her two nephews and a puppy was supposed to be fun. Sweating to death at a baseball game while getting gum in her hair, soda down her shirt, and an ice cream pedicure wasn’t part of the deal. Neither was finding out the best guy she’d ever missed a blind date with had witnessed it all. Longest. Weekend. Ever.
The Vet’s Valentine Gift – J.L. Campbell
Matthias Laing has snagged the woman of his dreams, but his job as a vet keeps getting him into trouble. The situation is past complicated because of the growing assortment of animals in Toni’s house and to top it all, the conflict between Matthias and her ex-husband. Can Matthias and Toni’s budding romance survive their challenges and if it doesn’t, will Jade, her precocious five-year-old find a way to play Cupid and fix things by Valentine’s Day?
Her Perfect Catch – K.L. Brady
Nerdy, struggling sports writer Melanie Vincent needs a miracle when her dream of running a nationally recognized blog hits a snag due to low readership. After Mel is gifted a pair of Super Bowl tickets for years of faithful dog sitting, she has a chance encounter with her favorite football player that leads to the inside scoop on the biggest story of her career…and maybe the love of a lifetime.
Inflamed – Jade Kerrion
Debra Martinez doesn’t believe in happy endings, until Sean Orr, Havre de Grace’s newest firefighter, shows her and her son, Aidan, a new and beautiful kind of “normal.” But the happiness can’t last—not for Sean who is on the run from his own past.
Remember When – Hope Welsh
Laura and Brent really tried to make their marriage work, but in the end, it just wasn’t meant to be. Or was it? When they meet to discuss joint custody of their Akita, they discover they have much more to talk about other than the dog.
Your Biggest Fan? – Sydney Aaliyah Michelle
Noah Patrick, NFL bad boy, has sworn off women, who only seem to want him for his fame and his money. Callie James is such a big Noah Patrick fan, she named her energetic Chihuahua after the man of her dreams. When they find themselves hiding out in the same Brooklyn Brownstone, a crazy blizzard, a never-ending supply of spaghetti, and a dog with identity issues bring them together even though they both have secrets that would tear them apart.
The Feline Fix – Caroline Bell Foster
Meeting Police Constable Callum Forde on the worse day of her life, makes cat lover and scientist Wendy Wilde question all that she values, her cat’s loyalty and the role science plays in love.
Trembling Hearts – Suzette Riddick
Recluse Jason Carr is living in rural Virginia after an accident leaves him physically scarred. While taking a stroll and minding his business, the spunky Lezlie Sharpe literally crashes into his life, stealing the heart of his beloved pooch, Trooper. Now, forced to share living quarters, will Lezlie capture Jason’s heart too?
EXCERPT
The Vet’s Valentine Gift by J.L. Campbell
I sat there thinking Dane had a nerve. From what I understood, he’d been a constant source of disappointment to Jade since his separation and divorce from Toni. Considering that, I didn’t know why Toni would defend him.
When she came back to the living room, Jade was with her.
One look at her told me she was still unhappy. Her little mouth drooped at the corners and she kept her gaze lowered. She climbed onto the sofa to sit beside me and after a moment I slipped my arm around her shoulder.
Toni sat on her other side and fixed her eyes on the television where the business segment of the news was on air.
Jade poked me in the leg. “Doc, I didn’t ask you before, but you got any children?”
“Do you have any children,” Toni said.
Jade nodded to acknowledge her and then turned back to me. “Do you have any?”
“I shook my head. I have nieces and nephews though. Does that count?”
“Nah, but if you had a little girl like me, you’d want to see her all the time, right?”
A deep breath was in order, because I was heading into a minefield and had to choose my words so as not to rile Toni any further.
Gently, I plucked Jade’s nose. “Of course, if she was as cute as you are.”
Jade turned to Toni. “See, I told you he’d make a good daddy.”
Toni shot fire at me with her eyes, and my only response was a shrug. I wasn’t about to make Jade feel any worse after her argument with her father
Jade didn’t say anything for a bit, but frowned hard at the television. It wasn’t long before she poked me in the leg again. “Doc, can I ask you something?”
“You can ask me anything.”
Toni sat forward, as if sensing Jade was going to ask a question she wouldn’t like, but she stayed quiet. When Jade looked at her, Toni pressed her plump lips together and put on the same expression my mother used years ago to let me know we’d have words later if I did any foolishness.
Shuffling sideways, Jade angled her body toward me. She narrowed her eyes as if to gauge whether or not she should ask what she wanted to know. I guess she was satisfied with whatever she saw because she sat up straighter and looked me square in the face. “Doc, since you don’t have a little girl yet, would you like to be my daddy?”
GENRE:  Contemporary Romance
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

BLURB:

The Measure of Love is unique in that it is an authentic modern-day love story that captures the mystique and splendor of large size women of today.  It will captivate the hearts of the readers as they walks through Vanessa’s everyday life as she confronts the realistic obstacles from being a woman of size.  The story addresses size in a kinder, gentler way about full figured women beyond the realm of society’s idea of what is physically beautiful

Excerpt:

Good fortune spared her from becoming further unnerved by allowing her to get to the airportwithout much delay, and to find a parking spot, with a few minutes left before his flight was to arrive. Vanessa felt as if she couldn’t make time move fast enough. With each passing minute, she couldn’t deny her mounting eagerness to see his handsome face come through the exit doorway. While the passengers were disembarking, Vanessa positioned herself in a place where she could easily see him come through the door, yet far enough away from the crowd of onlookers waiting for the same reason. As the doors opened and each unfamiliar face passed through the doorway, she felt as if her inflated heart was going to burst onto the carpet. She felt sure she would stop breathing if she didn’t see his face in the next few seconds.

Vanessa stood very still, watching the stream of emerging passengers. And then, suddenly, there he was, looking like the million dollars he was worth in her shining eyes. Unbeknownst to her, Jon had been anticipating seeing her just as much once the plane had landed, and the need had only increased as the plane, much too slowly, had taxied up the runway. His feet had wanted to run down the long walkway, making him impatient with the necessary procedures and the lingering passengers who, to his increasing anxiety, were taking their time walking down it.

He didn’t know why, but he was nervous and very anxious, even though he’d been looking forward to this day since it had been arranged.

By the time Jon reached the exit, he was so wired it took everything he had not to push the people ahead of him out of his way to run the extra steps. Then, at the exact same moment, their eyes locked. Vanessa stood there, so statuesque, and wearing the biggest smile. It took all the remaining restraint he had not to drop his bag where he stood, run to her, and grab her up in his hungry arms to consume every inch of her big, beautiful body. She was one fine female, and he could see she had no idea of the enormous impression she made as she stood looking like a vision to all who had an eye for real beauty.

Never taking his eyes off hers, Jon walked toward her, lowered his bag, and forced himself to slowly pull her into his impatient arms. The feel of her softness revived the many feelings that had possessed him since he last left her, and gave him a new wish to hold on to her for a lifetime, just as he was at that very moment. For someone of such a large frame, she was so small in so

He had missed her. For someone of such a large frame, she was so small in so many ways not obvious to those who couldn’t see past the image taken in by the discriminating eye. Jon just wanted to hold her and protect her forever from all the ugliness around her and within her own insecure reflection. Vanessa wrapped her large arms around his neck, nestled her face deep into his shoulder beneath his scented square chin, and whispered, “I’ve missed you so much.

Welcome, my love.”

AUTHOR Bio and Links:

I was a large-sized child shaped by the view of those expecting me to act a certain way because of my size and their narrow views.  As a “fat” child I was treated just how they thought I would act, as if I was so sensitive I were incapable of doing most things thin children could do.   It was around the age of twelve I started to gain weight, changing my physical image of my body.  It was a slow, steady process, but the ramifications were not.

As I grew older and the pounds followed, the images changed dramatically and I wasn’t capable of fighting the effects from it. As a young girl of size, trying to keep some semblance of positive image was an uphill battle.  It was the start of feeling isolated and unsure as an introverted child growing up and into most of my teen years. I didn’t feel I could trust anyone enough to talk to about personal issues, especially anything to do with my weight.

As a teen and into adulthood the meaning of unrequired love was lost to me.  As I explored the world around me, I unknowingly learned how to trust many of the voices of the people I was blessed to have had walk through my life.  In time, it showed me my innate trust in something bigger than society’s issues and helped me to listen to my own voice to hear the messages I tell myself.

Now, the image of my body is one of kindness, caring, and love.  In light of realizing its society’s image of body that is distorted and do not accept the difference in every individual, I have come a long way to appreciate the uniqueness of my body.  Today love means so many things to me, and is felt in defining ways that have helped shape me into the person I am today.  I believe I have always reflexively felt a connection to my innate love for myself and on so many amazing levels love have helped me to understand and value the real me.

As a young adult, I started to read every opportunity I had.  Then my love of words was found, allowing me to create a world in which I could express myself comfortably.  I now have the pleasure of embracing the feelings of joy and excitement that come with being a writer of truth and a romance novelist.  It’s possible because I evaluate myself and my growth with honesty in hopes of being capable of writing true-to-life love stories.  Love stories about large-size women who are seen for more than their innate beauty and are worthy to be the heroine who gets the man.

excerpt

After tossing and turning for a few hours, I decided to get up and take a hot shower in the hopes that it would help me fall asleep easier. I took off my clothes and stepped into the shower, closing my eyes and letting the hot water beat on my face; I could feel the tension in my shoulders dissipate as I stood there. Just as I went to reach for my chamomile exfoliating scrub, the room was plunged into darkness. I felt someone’s presence in the room before even seeing anyone. My heart started beating rapidly and my mind immediately jumped back to the person who had broken into my house a little while ago. My first instinct was to scream at the top of my lungs for Alexandra and Alyssa, but then I remembered that they weren’t home.

Footsteps started walking away in the opposite direction… whoever was in there with me ran out of the bathroom in a hurry and closed the door with a bang. Every single hair on my neck stood up straight. I quickly shut off the water and felt around me to find the vanity, clinging onto it for balance and guidance as I opened the top drawer to remove a candle and some matches from it. My fingers were trembling like crazy yet somehow, I managed to light the candle anyway. I grabbed a towel with my left hand and secured it around my body, tiptoeing as quietly as possible towards the door with my heart beating in my throat. I had no idea what to expect on the other side, so I tried to steady my nerves and slowly pushed the door open. After I’d inspected the hallway, I started walking toward the basement to go check the fuses. I walked straight toward the main breaker box and opened the gray lid. Just as expected, there’s nothing wrong with them. Suddenly, I was pulled out of my thoughts when a hand positioned itself on my shoulder and another one slapped the candle right out of my hand.

Once again total darkness fell over me. I let out a colossal scream while I tried to struggle free from his tight grip. I screamed and screamed until he pressed his hand against my mouth. He started laughing like a mad man and told me to pipe down. “No one is going to hear you, dear. There’s no one here!” His voice was strangely electronic as if it had been altered by one of those voice changers. “I’ve been looking forward to having you all to myself and this time, Nathaniel isn’t around to help you out.”

His words snapped me right out of my weak moment, they made me feel so stupid for the way I feared someone who wasn’t even man enough to show me his true identity. I desperately wanted to know who this man was and before I knew it, I dug my heel into his right foot with everything I had in me. He cursed at me and loosened his grip, giving me an opportunity to elbow him right in the crotch. He let go and I wriggled free, moving away faster than I’d ever did in my life. I couldn’t see a thing, not even a sliver of light passed through the basement. I didn’t know where the door was, I didn’t even know where the stairs were until I tripped on the bottom step and fell face down on the staircase. I sighed in relief, but before I got the chance to stand up straight the man attacked me from behind.

That’s when I heard Aaron yelling my name. “Leona! Leona,” he bellowed. “Where are you?”

The man covered my mouth and held something cold and metal against my cheek. “If you want to make it out of here alive, I suggest you shut the fuck up and keep perfectly still.” My breath caught in my throat as I felt, what could only be described as a gun dig into my cheek. I could barely breathe as I watched my entire life flash right in front of me. My unshed tears started burning in my eyes, I couldn’t do anything else but close my eyes and let them out.

excerpt

A short time later, a noise in the living room woke me up. I had to blink a few times before I could fully open my eyes but as they opened, I could make out a silhouette standing in the corner of the room. It appeared to be a man, fully dressed in black. “Nate,” I called out, hoping it was him. There was no answer, and his powerful stare seemed to drain my will power.

A cold air rushed through my body just seconds before it went numb. The figure began walking slowly towards me and, had I not known better, I would almost think that he was floating—something like they do in those creepy horror movies.

Please, get it together, Leona. Focus on moving your body and get ready to run.

My phone rang then, and I wanted to pick it up so badly that I could imagine myself doing it. But as much as I tried to, I still couldn’t move anything but my eyes. The closer he got to me, the more desperate I became to get my body to move. I couldn’t take it anymore and I sure as hell wasn’t going to sit by and watch him attack me, so I closed my eyes and started praying that he would just get it over with already. Breaking eye contact did wonders. I could feel my muscles relaxing and a few seconds later, I didn’t feel as drawn to him anymore; I could finally move.

I was just about to make my grand escape when my phone started ringing again and this time, I could turn to see Nathaniel’s name on the Caller ID. I was so glad! I avoided eye contact with whoever was coming my way and answered quickly. “Na-Nate there’s someone in the house with me–” was all I could manage before said person grabbed a hold of me and knocked the phone right out of my hand.

“Be still,” his creepy voice mocked me while I attempted to free myself from his tight grip.

Next thing I heard was the sound of the front door breaking down. Nathaniel burst into the room with his Glock in extended hands. “Let go of her, you son of a bitch!”

Alexandra walked into the living room right after him with a baseball bat in her hand. “What the hell is going on in here?” Her eyes almost popped out of her head when she saw me in the stranger’s clutches. “Let go of her!” she yelled angrily as she took a step towards the man.

The coward took advantage of the situation by pushing me into Nate’s arms and disappeared into the darkness. Alex didn’t waste any time and tried to rush after him, only to be stopped by Nate. “No Alexandra, stay with Leona, and the two of you go check on Alyssa for me.”

Nate was fuming all the way over to Alyssa’s bedroom. “Did he hurt you? Did he touch you? Did you see his face?” I’d never seen him so angry, the man was literally shaking with fury as he told me: “Stay here, okay … I’m gonna go and check out the house.”

I shook my head. “No! Are you crazy? I am not going to leave you out here alone, Nate.”

But it wasn’t up for debate. “I’m serious, Leona, even if you hear anything don’t come out, okay? Please, promise me that you won’t try to interfere; I need you and the girls safe.”

I reluctantly promised him and proceed to knock on Aly’s door … there was no answer. Not wanting to wait for an invitation, I walked in and turned on the lights, and as I did so, the scene in front of me made my heart turn to ice. Alyssa was sound asleep, but there was someone in the room with her. He was standing beside her and was touching and smelling her. He turned his face to look at me and dropped his hand to his side. It was him. Still wrapped up in black clothes and some kind of mask on his face that only showed his eyes and his mouth. He started walking towards me with a creepy grin and the way he did it made my skin crawl.

I screamed. I screamed so loud that my own ears began to whistle. Alyssa woke up in a haze and started screaming alongside me when she saw him. The man stopped in his tracks, turned back around and quickly put one hand around Aly’s neck and the other over her nose and her mouth to stop her from screaming her lungs out.

Alexandra snapped out of her shock and lunged at him with the bat. He ducked and it went straight over his head. Her surprise attack knocked him off balance and he let go of Alyssa before he hit the floor. Before he had the chance to stand up, I jumped on him from behind and started pummeling him with my fists. But he was too big and in seconds, he’d flipped me over and had me pinned.

Alexandra sneaked up on him again, but he sensed the move and yanked the bat from her grip. Screaming, he took a swing at her and cracked her right on the knee with it. She stifled her grimace and pulled a kitchen knife from her back pocket and brandished it in the air. “Let go of her, you bastard!” she yelled.

The intruder smiled and tightened his grip on me. This infuriated Alex even more and she ran at him with the blade. Unable to keep hold of the bat and me, without getting stabbed, he let go of us both and tripped Alex with his foot, causing her to stumble. He took advantage of her fall and grabbed her by both wrists. She tried to struggle out of his grip, but he stole her protection and held the blade against her throat. As he pushed the metal against her skin, Nate appeared with his Glock on the side of the stranger’s head.

“Drop the knife and step away from her. Now!” he ordered.

My first romance suspense! Felida created a PYT (pretty young thing) in Nate, a young and sexy law enforcer. The heroine Leona goes on such a ride with suspenseful twists and turns, never leaving a dull moment in the journey. The chemistry between Nate and Leona is steamy. The best thing about this book is the way Felida weaves in multicultural characters. You see a little bit of every culture and race. I love it! My best to S.E.! ~ 5 Stars, Love Belvin

S.E Felida Incredible Dreams was “Absolutely Astounding”. It was like watching a movie unfold capturing every scene perfectly. From the amazing plot, to the impressive imagery and visualizations throughout the story “Simply Brilliant”. Incredible Dreams weaves together a mysterious storyline and addresses Leona’s childhood struggles, which leads to her mistrust in men. Meeting Nathaniel the man of her dreams, Leona is instantly enthralled. Nathaniel is the epitome of a soul mate; he is compassionate, sexy, strong and has a beautiful soul. Leona is beautiful, sweet, caring, and loves with her whole heart. The main couple share this intense connection that is beyond words, their souls are connected. You feel their love for each other despite their past and the pain they endured. Leona’s love is an addiction to Nathaniel in its rarest form; their love is completely consuming mind, body and soul. Every character in this story is haunted by their past in some way shape or form, they all have scars that they try to conceal emotionally. Leona, Alyssa, Alexandra and Naomi are true soul sisters that are determined to get through life with each other’s support. Their bond is truly amazing and relatable. Incredible Dreams is romantic, sexy, suspenseful, and highly emotional. It is a story that signifies that we all get second chances at loving and living. S.E Felida, I am beyond speechless how you captured each emotion effortlessly pain, heartache, tragedy, abuse, family friendship and love and turned it into one of the most beautiful stories I have read. Omg the ending off the story took me by surprise, I think I had a mini heart attack but I loved every minute off it. Perfection. Cannot wait to read Book Two Irrational Behavior. ~ 5 Stars, Stracey Charran Ishwar
