BLURB:

Forty years ago the Australian rural town of Burrawang Bend was the scene of a brutal murder, and the townspeople are still calling for justice. Marlee Moore, the suspect’s and victim’s granddaughter, is fighting to clear her grandfather’s name. And no one is going to stand in her way. But when things take a dangerous and deadly turn, Marlee must turn to the one man she was determined to run out of town.

Devon Reilly, investigative journalist for his hit TV show, Justice Served, is in Burrawang Bend to solve the forty-year-old cold case murder. But, he didn’t bargain on Marlee keeping him from investigating the case and he soon questions where her loyalties lie. With the living? Or with the dead? But when Marlee and her son’s life are put in danger, Devon knows he is the only man who can keep them alive. But what happens when he soon realizes he is the bigger threat to the woman and kid he loves?

Excerpt:

He took his time drinking from his bottle of water. He rubbed the back of his hand across his lips and exhaled. “Well, if her death was deemed an accident, then he stood to gain financially. A hundred thousand dollars in the early seventies was a considerable amount of money. And that is called motive.”

“It’s still considered a considerable amount of money. At least by me it is.” When she couldn’t loosen the lid of her water, he reached for it. Her gaze lingered on his. “When you were doing your piece to camera, I heard you say Pops had told people Marion had terminal cancer. Surely this would lead people to infer she might have committed suicide. If that was the case, then the insurance wouldn’t have paid out. There goes your motive, Reilly.”

He slid the opened bottle of water toward her.

“If Marion had cancer, then surely Pops is innocent.”

“It would certainly have the investigation looking in another direction. But, Marlee, there are no doctors or nurses or other health care professionals to support Saul’s claim Marion had terminal cancer. None of Marion’s friends confirmed she had cancer either. Surely, that would have been something she would have confided to her family and friends. It doesn’t make sense she would want to keep that toherself. Especially since she had a kid. She’d want to make preparations for her daughter.” He looked pointedly at her. “Your mother. And then there is the issue of the selective autopsy. If a complete autopsy had been performed, then we would have definitive proof of whether or not she had cancer.”

“Why wouldn’t the coroner examine all of Marion’s organs?”

“That’s the sixty-four-thousand-dollar question. Within a day of the autopsy report being provided, Marion was cremated. An inquest was held, but the coroner could not make a decision as to whether or not Marion was murdered, if she committed suicide or if her death was an accident. Saul and other witnesses refused to give evidence. Hence, the open findings ruling. I’d like to question the coroner but I believe he died a couple of years after Marion.”

book blurb

Abigail Grant has a secret . . . and a plan to keep her younger sister from suffering the same fate. Her strategy would have worked if she hadn’t been seduced by sweet-talking musician Luke Omega. Suddenly she’s plucked from the life she wanted to escape, but her new circumstances only expose her to a different danger—or is it her salvation?

Luke has a secret, too. He believes he can change his destiny through willpower—and a little blue pill. When he inadvertently gets mixed up in the Grant sisters’ troubles and his pack alpha orders him to marry Abigail, his family insists he tell her he’s a werewolf. But Luke claims Abigail is not his life mate. She doesn’t need to know what happens to him on the full moon.

Until he accidentally stumbles across her secret. Then all bets are off.

excerpt

Not many people sat in the folding chairs in front of the platform. Nor were there as many blankets strewn around on the grass as there would be when Toke Lobo and the Pack took the stage. Luke felt bad for the performers. He sat through a magic act in which he saw every alleged sleight of hand. The garage band that followed should have stayed parked.

Then the valentine girl came out.

Her eyes were so pure a shade of blue he didn’t think they were real. She must have stolen the color from one of the mountain lakes high above Loup Garou. And her mouth. Ancient Ones, her lips were pink and shiny and full, as if she’d spent the past half hour kissing someone. A slight gap in her top front teeth personalized her smile. Her golden hair snagged the sun, then released beams in prisms of colors wealthy enough to tempt any leprechaun.

“Abigail Grant from Oak Moon,” the emcee announced. A girl in the front row whooped and hollered. Abigail’s fan club.

Luke leaned back in his chair. Abigail’s set wasn’t long—three numbers. The first was a cover of Adele or Christina Perri or something familiar sounding from the radio. The second song was . . . okay. The chord changes were simple and the lyrics adequate, but nothing to impress anyone. And Abigail’s voice was too smooth. Homogenized. There were no rough edges for the notes to cling to. As a performer, she was bland.

But those lips formed a perfect frame for naughty.

Oh, he was going to enjoy exploring those lips and having them explore him.

Her third and final number had him rethinking her talent—or lack thereof. Not that he was any kind of expert, but her voice wasn’t . . . big enough to do the lyrics justice. She sounded like cotton candy—pastel and sweet, but without substance. But the words, listening past the shell of her voice—there was power in lyrics, strength she undermined by singing. She infused the song with sorrow when the meaning required rage.

The smattering of applause as she concluded was embarrassing. She must have realized it, because her cheeks darkened, as if she was blushing.

Luke clapped. He knew how awful being in front of an unappreciative audience could be. He made his way to the edge of the stage, where portable stairs aided the performers getting off and on the platform.

“Hey,” he said, lifting his hand to help her descend.

She hesitated, then her too-blue eyes widened.

Luke thought he might drown.

“You’re the drummer for Toke Lobo,” she said. Her speaking voice was as smooth as her singing voice. She took his hand.

“Luke. Nice to meet you.” He grinned. Women loved his grin. At least, that’s what they told him. “You must be thirsty after all that singing. Can I buy you a cup of lemonade?”

Josie’s strength and Cain’s loyalty are tested to the limit as they fight for their lives. Facing a killer is one thing, but facing her love for Gordon is Josie’s greatest challenge.

EXCERPTS (Exclusive Excerpt):

 “Josie?” My name, softly spoken, echoed from a distance.

“Don’t die. Please, Josie, I can’t stand to be alone anymore.”

Pain resurfaced, but was diminished. A little bit anyway, which was better than nothing, but not nearly so nice as the darkness. I sought the darkness, but it was gone and light crept in. Dim and dirty, but unyielding. I opened my eyes. The iron bars were still there. I slid my gaze to the left, toward the voice.           Darby was six feet away, sitting on concrete with her legs curled under, gripping her own set of bars. Her blue eyes shone bright with tears.

“Josie?”

“Darby.” It was all I could manage past the dry grit in my throat. It had the vague limy taste of concrete.

“Thank God.”

I swallowed once, rubbing my throat. “Where?”

She shook her head. “Hell.”

Hell resembled iron bars backed with solid, dank concrete walls. That sounded about right.

“How long?”

“A day. Maybe more.”

I had been out for at least twenty-four hours. Panic threatened again. What had happened to me during those hours when I had been hiding in the darkness? I felt frantically at my clothes.

“He didn’t touch you, except to drop you on the mattress,” Darby said.

I met her eyes again. I may not have been touched, but she had. “Wes?”

She nodded. Darby’s T-shirt featured a basket of kittens. I recognized it from the snapshot of the teenage girl and fiercely hoped Darby didn’t know where it had come from. Her thighs were scraped and bruised. I saw the edge of a pair of cotton panties. Panties are panties and they could have come from anyplace. But these were mine. I just knew it.

“Has he raped you?”

She looked away. The way her cheeks flamed was an answer in itself. “Yes, but it’s not so bad. It’s quick and he goes away. He’s almost…nice.”

Every fiber of my being rejected that idea and I had to remind myself she had been imprisoned here for a week. Darby was preserving her life in the way she thought was the best. Wes might be almost gentle with her now. But when he got tired of her, he would turn Cain on her. Cain, driven by years of brutal training, would not be gentle. But Darby didn’t know that.

Excerpt:

Stokes was already at the bar when Big Joe arrived. The PI was a smidgen under six foot, and not very impressive. That fact and his patient persistent nature served him well and enabled him to blend in almost anywhere. His light brown receding hairline and brown eyes framed by wire-rimmed glasses didn’t garner much interest.

An overly attentive young hostess escorted Big Joe to his usual table at the back corner of the dining room where he had an excellent view of who came and went. He had more than a few enemies. That was to be expected. He was a rich, ruthless, powerful man who was about to move JD to the top of his enemy list.

He ordered another bourbon when Stokes joined him and waved off the waiter as he returned for their lunch order. “Get on with it.”

Stokes disliked Big Joe, but he paid well and had a lot of well-heeled connections. Things were tight, so he took on the assignment to follow Cassandra Hoffman. “Not much happened after she got back from Denver. She works at her studio and spends a lot of time at home with her grandmother. Other than a couple of altercations with her ex fiancé, not much to interest you until JD showed up, but it is all in the report.”

Big Joe took the packet with the report, complete with photos, and set it aside. He would review it in private. “Get to the part about JD.”

“He must have arrived by cab. I didn’t know he was there, but stuck around a while when she got home. It was obvious that something was out of the ordinary that Friday evening. She broke the speed limit and then some. A short time later she, her grandmother, and JD went out to eat. He stayed the night, but before dawn they were on the road. I followed them with the little tracking beacon I’d placed on her vehicle when I’d first taken on the assignment. They spent the day at a horse sale with some of her friends. Early Sunday morning, the pair of them went to a local boarding stable where her purchase of the prior day was delivered. They returned home to escort her grandmother to church.”

Stokes placed a flash drive in his laptop and activated the file he wanted, and then he slid it over for Big Joe to view. “Sunday, the lights went out around eleven. I stayed for a while and figured they were in for the night. It was raining, and I was ready to pack it up when JD opened the door and seated himself on the small covered porch. Things got interesting when Miss Hoffman joined him.”

Big Joe closed the laptop. “Stokes, I want that flash drive.”

Stokes ejected it and gave it to his client who dropped it into the packet with the rest the results from his assignment.

“Go back and keep an eye on her. I will take care of JD.”

Stokes didn’t like the sounds of the implied threat, but he caught the next flight back to Cleveland.

BLURB:

Erin Grady is used to taking care of people. That’s why she’s thrilled to finally realize her dream of opening a clinic…and why she’s willing to overlook where the money came from—until a determined prosecutor comes sniffing around.

Will Patton is desperate to leave the small fogbound town of Lost Coast Harbor and build a real career for himself. But to do that, he’ll need to expose the dirty police chief—and betray the woman who makes him wonder if he’s leaving town too soon.

But the corruption in Lost Coast Harbor runs deep and wide—and exposing the truth will require Erin and Will to expose their hearts…no matter the risk.

Excerpt:

“I take care of myself. I don’t need someone to take care of me,” Erin said.

Will ran a thumb across her pouty bottom lip. He didn’t doubt that she believed it. That stubborn tilt to her jaw said she was independent and self-reliant. She was tough, and strong, and he wouldn’t want her any other way. But God, he just wanted to hold her and care for her for a change.

“Not tonight.”

Her eyes widened at the contact of his fingers along her cheek.

“No?” Her voice dropped to a husky whisper.

“I’m going to kiss you,” he whispered.

Her eyes widened and her lips parted in a small smile. “You are?”

He stroked her hair again, then through the strands until his hand was at the back of her neck.

“And then, I’m going to push that indecent dress up just a little higher, and see what you wore for me tonight,” he said, feeling her heart beat under his fingers.

She swallowed and started to reach for him, but he stilled her hand, covering it with his. He shifted so he could pull her closer.

“I know it’s something sexy,” he breathed into her neck, then pressed his lips against the soft skin below her ear. “Lace? Silk?”

Her breath escaped in a rush as he ran his hand down her body, over the curves that had been tempting him all night. His fingers played with the hem of the short dress and Erin shifted as his hand moved under the fabric and across soft, warm skin. His hands roamed higher, up the back of her legs, along the curve there and moving higher still.

His mouth went dry as he realized the lace and silk he was reaching for wasn’t there. Instead, his fingers brushed her soft, hot core, making her squirm against his hand.

“Jesus, Erin,” he breathed

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
What do you get when you mix a mad scientist, a psychopath, an ice cream lady and a repo man? Something perfectly toxic…
Melanie Scarlet is a knife-wielding badass who knows how to dispose of a body, and make evidence disappear. But Mel, a.k.a., the Ice Cream Lady, draws the line at one thing: she refuses to live with her husband, Cash Maddox, unless he quits the repo business that nearly got him killed—no matter how much she loves him.
To thaw Mel’s heart and convince her to leave the Everglades and move back home to Tallahassee, Cash is finally ready to retire from his adrenaline-fueled job…until homeless men begin vanishing. As Mel investigates the disappearances, Cash’s temper goes into overdrive when he realizes his wife has been keeping a dangerous secret from him. She’s been doing more than scooping ice cream—she’s a cleaner for the underground criminal investigation agency, Above the Law.
Mel isn’t the only one with a secret. A scientist has created a drug that will cure psychopaths by deadening the urge to dominate, hurt and murder. To prove his chemical combination works, he uses the homeless as test subjects. He breaks and scrambles their minds, turns them into killers, then tries to fix them. But what if the scientist creates a killer he can’t fix? A true psychopath he can’t control? As Cash joins Mel and the ATL crew, they learn firsthand, the results could be…toxic.
Excerpt:
When Melanie reached the front door, she touched the faded, sun-bleached wreath she’d made over two years ago. Nostalgia settled over her heart. Although Cash had still been recovering from his injuries, those days had been happy ones. He hadn’t been able to repo.
Betrayal and frustration gave nostalgia the boot. Dang it. They could have been good together. She knocked on the door. Instead, they were living separate lives because she wasn’t enough. Not enough excitement, not enough of a challenge. His accident had taught her that she didn’t need those things anymore. Then again, she had signed on to ATL and did still chop the occasional car or boat. Oh, God. There was also those bodies she’d disposed of in her daddy’s swamp.
The door opened and Cash’s large body filled the threshold. His t-shirt clung to his arms and chest, revealing the muscles she loved to hang onto when she rode him. Her heart beat hard as she shifted her gaze from his chest to his mouth. How she’d love to shove him against the door and kiss that arrogant, overconfident smile off his lips.
“How are ya’, babe?” Cash asked, his tone rough, sexy.
She met his gaze. His dark-brown eyes held hunger, lust and smugness. During their two-year separation, they’d found excuses to see each other. Then they’d have a long weekend of hot sex. Cash was in for a rude awakening. Just because he knew how to make her moan didn’t mean he’d be getting any action during this visit.
He took a step forward and crowded her space. She inhaled his cologne as he slid a finger along her jawline until he reached her chin. “I’ve missed you.” He leaned forward, brought their mouths so close together his warm breath brushed her lips.
God, how she ached for him. If only he loved her enough. The reminder stung and bolstered the promise she’d made to herself: no sex, discuss making their separation permanent.
“Don’t touch me,” she murmured. “I have my period.”
