You first met Chad Rogers and Chloe Atwood in Florida Heat, now you get to read their story.

Old family ties broken, childhood pain healed and true love revealed—one step at a time.

One phone call sends Chad Rogers back to the one place he’s been avoiding—home. Being at his mother’s side after she is shot, he faces the younger brother who tormented him during childhood and his ex-lover, Chloe Atwood.

Chloe Atwood is engaged to a family friend. Chad Rogers steps back into her world, spinning it off its axis. She sees him in a new light this time around, leaving her to question if they can have a future together.

Exclusive Excerpt:

“Ryan called. They got the guy. Your friend ID’d him.” Angel winked, and his eyebrows drew together, wondering what she was talking about. “What’s her name? Chloe? You two have a story to tell.”

“So, what’s the story?” She nudged his shoulder.

“We’re college friends. They’ve arrested the guy?” A little too excited about the news, his voice spiked. He turned quickly, checking to make sure he didn’t wake their mother.

“You’re not getting off easy, baby brother. We’ll go back to the conversation about Chloe. They arrested him, she made the ID, and now he’s been officially charged with attempted murder. But Ryan doesn’t think it’ll stick. He thinks he’ll end up with second degree assault. Either way, he’ll serve time. Plus, he has other charges surrounding the incident. Ryan couldn’t talk about it though.” She leaned close. “Now, tell me what the real story is with you and Chloe.”

“There’s no story. She’s engaged.” He pretended to be browsing email messages.

“But you have feelings for her?” Angel pushed down the top of his laptop. “Talk to me, Chad.”

“Two years ago she came to Florida. For two weeks our friendship became more. She returned home here, and for a short time things were going well. We talked on the phone, texted and sometimes video called each other. When she wanted me to visit, I made every excuse possible to avoid coming back here.”

“You know why.” With a stern expression, he said, “Don’t push me.”

“Okay, keep going. So you didn’t visit her. Or your family. What happened?”

“All conversation slowly came to an end. Maggie told me Chloe was seeing another guy.” He closed the laptop. Nothing would get done with his sister around, asking questions. Questions he didn’t want to answer. “I’ve tried dating, but it’s tough.”

“How have you tried? Have you dated anyone else?” Angel remained against his arm.

“I went on a couple of dates with girls the guys on the ranch would set me up with. But they just weren’t…what I was looking for.”

“Because they weren’t Chloe. Right?”

The questions were darts being thrown, hitting the bull’s-eye. He hung his head. “Yes.”

Last of the Red Hot Cowboys by Tina Leonard (Goddess Fish Promotions) Giveaway!!

Welcome to my stop on author Tina Leonard‘s Virtual Super Book Blast Tour for Last of the Red Hot Cowboys,  presented by Goddess Fish Promotions.  Please leave a comment for Tina  to know you stopped by today.  Tina will be awarding a $25.00 Amazon gift card to 3 randomly drawn commenters on the tour.  Please follow the tour, the more you comment, the better chance you have of winning!  http://www.harpsromancebookreview.com/?p=484   The tour dates can be found here: http://goddessfishpromotions.blogspot.com/2014/02/virtual-super-book-blast-last-of-red.html

A sexy cowgirl gives a rugged Texas loner the ride of his life in USA Today bestselling author Tina Leonard’s seductive new series.

Ava Buchanan dreams of a career on the rodeo circuit. Winning a spot on a one-of-a-kind team would be her ticket to the life she’s always wanted. Ava won’t let anyone stand in her way—not even a stubborn cowboy whose slow-molasses smile and red-hot swagger set her senses aflame . . . and whose talents as a trainer could make her a star. Rodeo might be a man’s game, but Ava knows the right woman’s touch can tame the wildest heart.

Trace Carter believes his mayor’s plan to raise the town’s profile has disaster written all over it, and he won’t allow the Hell’s Outlaws Training Center to be dragged into the fiasco. Yet watching Ava’s delectable body on horseback proves too much of a temptation, and his fantasies stray to her riding skills outside the arena. Soon Trace is fighting like hell to rein in his unbridled desire for the petite brunette before it becomes a passion hotter than the Texas sun.

“It doesn’t matter,” Trace said, glancing over at Ava.  “Don’t let the Horsemen guilt you.  They’re working an angle, and it’s always a crooked one.”

“That makes no sense.”  Ava gave him a look of disgust, which he intercepted with good humor.  He was just happy to have her in his truck.  Frankly, she’d come with him more easily than he’d thought she would.  Especially after he’d overheard Fallon ask her out.

That alone had caused Trace to shift his gears.  He hadn’t really planned on dragging Ava off.  The plan had been to talk rationally to her, help her put her horse in the barn.  Hell, he hadn’t had a plan.

Until he’d heard Fallon make his boneheaded offer—and split-second, Trace had known that just couldn’t stand.

“It makes sense to me.  You don’t want to hang out with them, Ava.  Trust me.”

“I don’t know if I trust you at all.  You seem shadier than they do.”

He shook his head.  “Just some friendly advice.  You don’t know the pitfalls of Hell.  Friends help each other out.”

“Do they?”

He felt her glare and grinned.  Such a sweet, sexy body, so much sass.  “Last I checked, yes.”

“You need to sell your idea to Judy.  Not me.”

“You let me handle Judy.”

“Fine.”  She waved her hand dismissively.

“You don’t really like me much, do you?”

Ava looked at him, her dark-green eyes gazing at him curiously.  “You’re arrogant and short-tempered.  You didn’t want to give us a shot in the first place, and this is the second time you’ve put me in your truck to twist my arm.  Did I miss what I’m supposed to like?”

“Now that you put it like that, I realize I haven’t given you much to be impressed with at all.  Let me fix this snag.”

“Go right ahead.”

He turned his truck toward his barns to put her horse away.  “If I train you, you’ll be a helluva rider.”

“I’m a helluva rider now.”

“Yeah, but when I get done with you, you’ll be a badass helluva rider.”

“Why?  Why are you suddenly so motivated?”

He laughed, parked the truck.  “Maybe I hate to see a nice girl getting taken advantage of by the Horsemen.”

“I’m not being taken advantage of.”

“I meant Judy.”  He grinned, enjoying himself.

“It doesn’t matter.  You’re not that kind of guy.”

“Unselfish?  Sure I am.”  He went around to open her door.

She slid out of the truck.  “Considerate.  You’re not considerate enough to try to help us out.  Your ego may be involved because you’re competitive.  But not considerate or unselfish.”

He grabbed her hand, turned her to face him.  She’d been sassing him with those pink lips for a few days now, and a man could only take so much.

He kissed her, long and slow and sweet, taking his time since she didn’t protest.  She felt better than he remembered, even in his wildest fantasies, which he’d had plenty of concerning her.  He was dying to move his hands to her waist, circle it, palm her sexy fanny.  Told himself it was too fast, and too fast never got a man anywhere.

Her lips moved under his, returning his kiss, surprising him.  Had she just moved a fraction closer?  She seemed to melt against him, surrendering, and Trace’s world spun at all the magical wonder suddenly opening to him.

Somewhere a truck door slammed.  Ava gasped, moved away from him.  Stared at him, blinking, then silently went to unload her horse.

He followed, helping her unlock the trailer.  She unloaded Mack, walking him to the barn.

“Go away,” she told Trace.

That was it?  He’d given her a kiss to melt the hardest heart, and she was telling him to drop dead?  “Hey,” he said, “don’t freak out.”

“Do I look freaked out?”  She walked her horse inside the barn, checked that Mack had fresh, cool water and plenty of fresh hay.  “This is the face of annoyed.”

That wasn’t a woman’s typical response to his kissing.  “I’m sorry.  I jumped the gun.”

“You jumped more than the gun, buster.”  She put her horse into a stall, checked the hay, filled the water, brushed past him.

He followed her as she sashayed toward her own beat-up blue truck she’d driven from Virginia.  “Ava.”

“What?”  She moved a mountain of paper and horse stuff from the front seat to the back.

“Can you forget that happened?”

“Easily.”  She got in her truck, switched the engine on, rolled down the window.  “I already have.”

He jumped back as she peeled away, shredding his gravel drive.  Trace grinned.

She might try to forget, but that kiss was going to last him a while.

It had to.  He wasn’t touching the lady again—she was going to have to make the next move.

When the past collides with the present, the only way to ensure the future lies in the ultimate kill…

Naomi McCall is a woman of many secrets. Her family has been murdered and she’s been forced into hiding. No one knows her past or her real name, not even the man she loves.

Jake Tyler, former Marine and the newest recruit to the private criminal investigation agency, CORE, has been in love with a woman who never existed. When he learns about the lies Naomi has weaved, he’s ready to leave her—until an obsessed madman begins sending her explosive messages every hour on the hour.

Innocent people are dying. With their deaths, Naomi’s secrets are revealed and the truth is thrust into the open. All but one. Naomi’s not sure if Jake can handle a truth that will change their lives. But she is certain of one thing—the only way to stop the killer before he takes more lives is to make herself his next victim.

Bad guy’s POV:

When the door closed behind them, Ric rose from his chair. “And the woman?” he asked. “Should I find another investigator?”

“No.” He opened the file and stared at the eight by ten glossy of her. Although not beautiful in the classical sense, she’d caught his attention the moment he’d seen her. While she’d been bustling through the club where she used to work, taking drink orders, he’d pictured her naked, curvy body on his bed, her long, straight brown hair fanning out along his silk sheets as she spread her legs and welcomed him. He had eventually made what he’d imagined into a reality. And after having her once, he’d wanted her again.

Only she hadn’t.

That was her first mistake.

When she ran from him…that was her second.

After he’d found her, he’d tried to be reasonable. He’d tried to give her everything she would ever need, and she’d rejected him.

That was her last mistake.

He always got what he wanted. Always. Growing up with enough money to run a small country, the world and its contents were his for the taking.

She was his to take.

Ric pressed his hands against the desk and leaned forward. “You’ve spent eight years looking for her. Are you giving up?”

He looked up from the photograph and met Ric’s eyes. Eight years. A lot had happened during that time, and over the years he’d assumed he would eventually grow tired of searching for her. But he hadn’t. She was the one object his money couldn’t buy. The only woman who had walked away from him without a second glance. He never understood why. Quite frankly, he didn’t care whether she wanted him or not. She was a lost possession he wanted found. “Have you ever known me to quit anything?”

“Never.” Ric smiled. “Now what?”

He closed the file, then returned it to the drawer. “Now we do things my way.” He rose from the chair and walked to the windows. As he looked around the spacious backyard, he found his wife and two children sitting on the lawn having a picnic lunch. “Hiring another investigator isn’t going to cut it. We’ve been down that road one too many times,” he said, and watched grape jelly drop onto his four-year-old son’s pristine white shirt as the boy waved to him.

“And your plan is…?”

“Simple.” He gave his boy a two-finger salute. “If I can’t find her, I’ll make it so she has no choice but to come to me. When I’m finished, she’ll beg me to take her back.”

“Interesting,” Ric said, his voice laced with amusement. “And why would she come to you?”

He smiled, as his wife frowned and worked on their son’s jelly stain. “Because if she doesn’t, I’m going to kill a lot of people.”

My Review:

I really loved this book.  The characters had real depth and the villian was twisted.  Naomi is a very strong woman, she has been stalked for eight years and had her family murdered by the stalker.  And this is not just any stalker, this is rich, influential man. What he does to make her come out of hiding is unreal!!! I don’t want to give out spoilers but “What the…?”  Jake is with Core, an investigative agency.  He and Naomi were engaged until she ran away 5 years ago, he has found her and wants to why?  This book is an awesome, twists and turns, going into Naomi’s back story and into the plot to bring her out of hiding.

I didn’t pick up my first romance novel until I was in my late twenties. Immediately hooked, I read a bazillion books before deciding to write one of my own. After the birth of my first son I needed something to keep my mind from turning to mush, and Sesame Street wasn’t cutting it. While that first book will never see the light of day, something good came from writing it. I realized my passion and found a career I love.

When I’m not writing contemporary romances and dark, romantic suspense novels (or reading them!) I’m chasing after my four kids and two neurotic dogs.

BLURB: Their fake relationship is a twist of fate. Sabrina Cassidy believes in fate. So when her fiancé breaks off their engagement, she’s convinced they’ll get back together eventually. But fate was not on her side when it brought Jack Brenner into her life—and work. Frustrating, gorgeous, and cocky, Jack has an offer that Sabrina can’t refuse. Not if it means getting the life she’s always imagined. Despite being one of the town’s most eligible bachelors, Jack has a reputation that’s working against him. He has to convince his father—and his company’s board—that he’s ready to settle down if he wants a promotion. But convincing Sabrina to be his fake girlfriend turns out to be the easiest part. What he didn’t count on was their intense attraction and how easily their lie would escalate. Sabrina’s still hung up on her ex, and Jack will never settle down. But fate has other ideas… Cover_FianceByFate   Excerpt: “Will you relax,” he told her. “You’re making me anxious, and I’m never anxious.” Although he was anxious to get their plan started, but he was also hungry. He opened his desk drawer to his new stash of beef jerky he had on hand for such an emergency and pulled some out. Sabrina threw her hands up in the air. “Oh, great. This is so completely fitting with you. While I’m stepping into a web of lies, you’re stepping into a Slim Jim.” He looked at the beef thoughtfully, then held it out to her. “I’m sensing you need this more than I do.” “I’m a vegetarian.” “Now that explains a lot.” She bristled. “That’s it. Forget it. This is so stupid. We’re never going to convince anyone that we like each other, let alone that we’re dating.” Shaking her head, she was on her feet before he could blink and looked about ready to hightail it out of his office. “Wait,” he said quickly. Where was his normal finesse when it came to women? She had a way about her that brought out his worst. But she was right. If he didn’t watch himself, he’d ruin everything. “I’m sorry, Sabrina. This will work. How about we both try to keep the smart comments to a minimum?” She sat back down but her shoulders were still stiff. “All right then. Let’s just figure this plan out so I can get back to work.” Damn, there was a lot of pent-up energy going on in that tight little body of hers. It was kind of amusing to watch, especially the way she tried to quiet her hyperventilating breaths so he wouldn’t notice. Call him a jerk, but he noticed. Her chest was going in and out like a runaway steam engine and it was all he could do not to stare. And he liked what he saw. “What do you want me to do?” she asked, breaking into those thoughts. She nibbled one corner of her lip, her hair hanging loosely as she cocked her head to the side. “Well, I…” Their gazes met and held. Have her eyes always been that blue? Hell. He knew she was pretty, but he never realized she was that pretty. He cleared his throat and reached for more beef jerky. “You do have some sort of agenda, right?” she asked. “Agenda?” “A list of dos and don’ts.” He rolled his eyes. Sabrina was definitely not a play-it-by-ear kind of woman. He should have known she’d want an itemized list of how he expected her to act. She licked her lips. “Nothing over the top, I hope. Oh, and I guess I should have mentioned this before, but I don’t want to have to, uh…” “Don’t want to have to what?” he asked, popping another piece of jerky in his mouth. “Kiss you,” she finished. Jack froze midchew, then swallowed. “What?” She shifted in her chair. “I don’t want to have to kiss you.” “Absolutely not. That’s nonnegotiable. You have to kiss me. What kind of fake girlfriend are you, anyway?” She lifted her chin. “One that doesn’t believe in public displays of affection.” “That’s ridiculous.” “No, it’s not. Look, you’re the one who wants to change your reputation. Kissing and any other type of manhandling—fake or not—in front of people is not a way to show them you’re in a serious relationship. I won’t be treated like all your other bimbos. We’ll just have to be convincing in other ways.” Jack sat back and grunted. Little Miss Perfect had a point, as per usual. Kissing was not something they could be caught doing at work, and even if they were out on a fake date, at their age, they wouldn’t be lip-locked at some restaurant. But the idea still didn’t sit well with him. Who knew that he’d actually be disturbed he wouldn’t be able to kiss her? And the more he thought about how it disturbed him, the more disturbed he became.

My Review:

I loved the book. The characters were entertaining and believable,  Sabrina is an uptight vegetarian and Jack loves red meat.  She is very superstitious. Her fiance, David, recently asked for a break to consider things after a 3 year relationship.  She believes he will come back if she waits. Jack’s father and the stockholders think it’s time he settled down before he has to take over for his dad.  They come up with plan to make David jealous so Sabrina gets him back and for Jack’d dad to thing he’s ready to settle down.  So they pretend date but they have a major attraction between them.  Read the book to find out what happens!

It wasn’t until she watched her best friend find the man of her dreams that RayAnne Hill realized there was a part of her missing. She knows the empty space can only be filled by finding her own true love, complete with kids and the white picket fence. Fear of letting someone in stops her cold, and it’s much bigger than just finding Mr. Right.

James Shaw moved away from Kentucky and the family business to chase his own goals, settling in the small town of Kimmswick, Missouri. His business is succeeding, now he’s ready to complete his life with a wife and kids. One night, one look and he’s found her. RayAnne is everything he’s been searching for.

As hard as James has fallen for RayAnne, can he be enough to help her overcome her worst nightmare? Or will he decide he can’t wait forever, and walk away to find happiness?

By the time his heart came back on line the group had broken off into two directions, one of the women went to find a seat while the blonde headed to the bar. With a man. Just his luck. But he couldn’t keep his eyes off the way she sauntered up to the bar, her hips wiggling just enough to draw his attention. As he watched her order he noticed the man had his sights set on the other woman they’d arrived with. She had spiky black hair, piercings, and tattoos. Maybe his day wasn’t doomed after all. The dark haired one wasn’t his type. But the blonde…the cute, innocence of her face contrasted with the sexy short shorts and flannel shirt tied at her waist. She was exactly his type.

She looked up and down the patrons, stopping at him. James couldn’t pry himself away from her gaze. He winked and she grinned before offering him a finger wave. A little vixen.

“Hi.” Her cute, kissable mouth formed the word.

“Hey, sugar,” he replied, garnering the attention of the guy standing at her side. The other man glanced down the bar at him and cocked an eyebrow. Did they know each other? James didn’t think so, but he wasn’t very good at names or faces, so it was possible.

James broke their connection, turning to signal the bartender he wanted another round. As he tipped the bottle back, a warm, soft touch landed against his neck. “Save me a dance, cowboy,” the sweet words were whispered in his ear.

Revenge Vol 5 by JJ Knight

I received the final part of the series as an ARC and I loved!  It gave me my answers regarding Morris Music, Neal, etc.   Revenge was done in this volume of the book but they overcame it, don’t want to give too much away but I LOVED the book and the ending satisfied me, meaning I didn’t feel like yelling “And what else happened?” Well done, JJ Knight! I was worried with all the cliffhangers in the other volumes but you are not left dangling lol. 5*****
